We want to give a platform to those Mallorcan film enthusiasts, promoting audiovisual creativity around sport, the island of Mallorca and the environment, all linked to the Real Club Deportivo Mallorca.
RCD Mallorca & Evolution Short Film Contest
Below you will find two independent sections:
Participation Guidelines – everything you need to register, produce, and submit your short film.
Legal Terms – provisions regarding rights, responsibilities, and technical requirements for screening.

1. PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES
1.1 What is the objective of the contest?
We aim to provide a platform for Mallorca fans who are passionate about filmmaking, encouraging audiovisual creativity around sports, the island of Mallorca, and the environment, all connected to Real Club Deportivo Mallorca.
This is a social and participatory initiative, not a professional section, with the goal of fostering free expression accessible to all audiences.
1.2 Who can participate?
The contest is open to any individual or group. We invite all Mallorca supporters passionate about filmmaking to participate, regardless of technical resources or experience.
If any author of the short film is a minor, a signed authorization from their mother, father, or legal guardian must be provided.
1.3 Registration Information
- Free of charge (no entry fee).
- Submit your short film and the registration form before the deadline indicated in the official call.

1.4 What requirements must my short film meet?
1. Duration: 2–5 minutes (including credits).
2. File format: HD. QuickTime (.mov) or MP4 (.mp4). Horizontal 16:9.
3. Language: Catalan, Spanish, or English. If another language is used, the video must have subtitles in either Spanish or Catalan (participant’s choice).
4. Final subtitles: If selected as a finalist, a .srt file in Spanish or Catalan (only one, according to the previous choice) must be provided.
5. RCDM element: At least one element related to the club must appear (crest, ball, “Dimonió”, stadium, or another official symbol).
6. Theme: “Sport, Society, and Environment”.
1.5 What will be evaluated in the works?
Originality and narrative.

Thematic clarity and transmission of values.

Creativity in integrating the club and the island.

Technical quality (image, sound, editing).
1.6 How does the selection work and what prizes are there?
The organizing committee, composed of members from EMIFF and RCD Mallorca, will select 20 finalists.
A jury appointed by both entities will then decide the winners. The following will be awarded:

First prize

Second and third prizes

Audience award, decided by “likes” on a list of finalists published on the RCD Mallorca YouTube channel.
1.7 Prizes
- First Prize: €1,000 (via invoice) + exclusive experience for 2 people (except matches against FC Barcelona and Real Madrid).
- Second and Third Prizes: Premium Experience for 2 people (except matches against FC Barcelona and Real Madrid).
- Popular Vote Winner: Personalized official jersey.
Special Screening:
All finalist short films will be screened during the Evolution Mallorca International Film Festival, at a special event held at the RCD Mallorca Stadium, on October 28th, 2025. This public screening is part of the prize.
1.8 Schedule
- Final submission deadline – September 15.
- Announcement of finalists (by email) – September 30.
- Screening and awards ceremony – October 28, as part of EMIFF.
2. LEGAL TERMS
2.1 Acceptance and Compliance
Submitting a short film implies that the participant:
- Has read and fully accepts these guidelines and terms.
- Complies with the directives and rules of EMIFF; non-compliance may result in disqualification.
2.2 Reproduction and Promotional Use Rights
The 20 finalist works grant RCD Mallorca and EMIFF a non-exclusive right of reproduction and public communication for social networks, corporate websites, press releases, and festival events, for a period of 12 months following the edition in which they participate.
Awarded shorts must include the RCD Mallorca crest in the credits of the final master.
2.3 Exhibition and Format
If the work is selected for the official program:
It must be delivered 3 weeks before October 21.

Digital format: .mov or .mp4 in high resolution.

The following must be provided:

Clean version (without subtitles).

Subtitled version (if applicable).

.srt file with subtitles in Spanish or Catalan (only one of the two).
2.4 Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
Participants release the organization, its staff, and volunteers from any liability arising from their participation or from the screening.
No screening fee will be paid.
There will be no refunds or claims for damages if the short film cannot be screened due to technical, operational, rescheduling, or delay issues.
The festival does not cover travel or accommodation.
2.5 Intellectual Property
The person submitting the work guarantees ownership of all necessary rights (image, music, script, performance, etc.) and holds the organization harmless from third-party claims.
2.6 Applicable Law
Current local, regional, national, and European laws and regulations apply.
