Calvià and Evolution Mallorca International Film Festival partner to support Balearic audiovisual talent
The Ajuntament de Calvià and Evolution Mallorca International Film Festival (EMIFF) have launched a new partnership to promote cinema, audiovisual talent and professional opportunities across the Balearic Islands. Running from September to November 2026, the collaboration will bring several film-related activities to Magaluf, Port Adriano and other locations in Calvià.
The initiative coincides with the th edition of EMIFF and supports Calvià’s wider strategy to strengthen its position as a destination for film production, creative talent and audiovisual industry activity. Mayor Juan Antonio Amengual highlighted that the partnership, alongside projects such as Conecta Magaluf, reinforces the municipality’s commitment to cinema and the audiovisual sector. EMIFF founder and director Sandra Lipski welcomed the organic collaboration, emphasizing its shared goal of supporting filmmakers and creating opportunities for industry professionals.
The programme includes four main events:
On September 23 , EMIFF will present its edition at Shallow Beach, INNSiDE by Meliá Calvià Beach in Magaluf. The event will bring together filmmakers and audiovisual professionals, reveal key festival highlights and introduce the full Made in Balears selection, dedicated to talent from the Balearic Islands.
On October 24&25 and , Port Adriano will host “Cine con Coche,” a two-night drive-in cinema experience with screenings at and .
On October 30 , during the festival, Meliá South Beach in Magaluf will host an event marking the th anniversary of the Associació de Cineastes de les Illes Balears (ACIB), including a panel discussion, professional networking and screenings of films by ACIB filmmakers shot in Calvià.
On November 4 , Mallorca Go! Calvià will introduce EMIFF’s international guests to the municipality’s film locations and audiovisual potential, while facilitating connections with local industry professionals.
The partnership also includes an audiovisual piece featuring Toni Pons that showcases Calvià’s cinematic locations. Mallorca Go! Calvià is promoted by the Ajuntament de Calvià and funded through the Sustainable Tourism Tax of the Balearic Government, supporting more sustainable and responsible tourism.
