Sandra Lipski

Founder & Director 

Born in Berlin and raised in Mallorca Spain, founder, and director of the Evolution Mallorca International Film Festival (EMIFF), located in Palma de Mallorca, Spain and founder of The Festival Key (www.thefestivalkey.com), a consulting agency that creates film festival strategies for filmmakers and consults film festivals to innovate and grow. Sandra splits her time between Mallorca and Los Angeles. @sandraseelinglipski

Rainer Lipski

VP of Festival Development 

Rainer Lipski is an award-winning Director of Photography. Raised in Berlin, and with over fifteen years of working in Los Angeles, Rainer’s films have won awards all over the world - from Hollywood to Cannes.  Since the inception of the Evolution Mallorca International Film Festival in 2010, he has served as the lead strategic advisor to the founder & CEO.  Rainer continues to work on feature films, television projects, and commercials.

Michael Valinsky

Strategic Partnerships Director

Michael has worked closely with a variety of professional film organizations, industry events, and technology companies for over twenty years. Currently, he is a consultant and Partnerships Director for groups including ProductionHUB, LAPPG, Sight, Sound & Story, Filmmaker U, as well as select Vimeo events. Michael is based in New York City and travels frequently to Los Angeles.

Maria Calafat

Festival Manager

Maria Calafat was born and raised in Mallorca. She studied Film Production in UCLA and worked in several production companies in Los Angeles. She also has a Masters degree in Film Direction from ENSAV in Toulouse (France). She has participated in the making of several documentaries broadcasted in IB3TV and France 3 Télévisions. As a writer, she has created several fiction projects, which have received mentoring grants, including CIMA IMPULSA. She was involved with the Evolution Mallorca Film Festival from 2016 to 2018, coordinating industry events and also as a Documentary Programmer. After a hiatus, she’s back in the team, making sure the festival activities run smoothly and the filmmakers make the most of their festival experience.

Vicka Duran

Festival Locations Manager and Assistant Festival Coordinator

Vicka Durán trained as an actress at ESADIB. Graduated in piano from the Professional Conservatory of Music and Dance, she completed the R&D postgraduate course: The actor and the word, a project of the European Union (ERIC). Finally, she completed a Master's Degree in Theatrical Creation at Carlos III University where she graduated with honors. She is the founder and director for the female-focused film festival Cono Fest. She lives in Palma de Mallorca.

Constança Amengual 

Press coordinator Balearic islands, Spain

Constança Amengual lives in Mallorca and for a few years has been dedicated to journalism and cinema, two worlds that equally fascinate and interest her. She currently works on the cultural program Entusiastes, on IB3 Ràdio, and does freelance personal audiovisual work. In 2021 she premiered her first short film "Marieta" and in 2022 she premiered the documentary "Margalida".

 

For the second year, she will be the local press coordinator for EMIFF 2022. She is delighted to be part of the festival team, a fact that allows her to discover stories from all over the world through her work.

Claudia Albons

Social Media Manager 

Claudia was born in Mallorca, she speaks three languages and graduated from the University in Barcelona with a degree in journalism. Claudia was one of the first fashion bloggers/influencers in Spain and worked with many prestigious brands also as a model DJ. She went on to work as Creative Director at Milan Fashion Week. In 2019, She launched his own creative agency "Studio Albons", helping clients promote their brand by strengthening their image in the digital world. @studioalbons

Miguel Ángel Alfonso

Film Traffic Coordinator & Technical Manager

Miguel Ángel Alfonso was born in Mallorca, he studied Audiovisual Production at the CEF. After finishing his studies, he worked as a freelancer making short films, video clips, documentaries and advertising. He started working at CineCiutat cinema as a projectionist in 2017 while combining it with his work as a director and editor. In 2021 he moved to the programming part of the cinema, where he is currently in charge of management.

Bianca Valencia

Feature Film programmer 

Bianca was born and raised in Los Angeles. She graduated from Chapman University in TV Journalism and Broadcasting. She discovered her true passion for film by immersing himself in foreign cinema. Now, as a film music supervisor, she has worked for National Geographic, a24 and NEON. She is excited to continue her work as assistant film programmer for EMIFF for a third  year in a row.

Eugenia Sampedro

Assistant feature film programer

Euge is Assistant Programmer for the following categories; International Feature Films, Debut Feature Films and MADE IN BALEARES Feature Films. Eugenia is a talented filmmaker from Mallorca, last year she premiered her debut short film ‘Un diumenge qualsevol’ at EMIFF, which then went on to play many European festivals. EMIFF is excited to add such a passionate film aficionado to our team and we look forward to her insight and vision for this years program selection.

Paulo De Sousa

Assistant short film programmer 

Born in Zambia to Portuguese parents, he has been immersed in the arts: theater, television, radio and cinema since a very young age. After a short period in the UK he moved to the US in 2001. Paulo studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York City. He now lives in Los Angeles since 2008 and recently worked for Suzy Amis Cameron and her husband James Cameron. www.pdesousa.com

Alanna Sampietro

Assistant programer 

Alanna Sampietro is a entrepreneur specializing in international real estate, art consulting and film production based in Mallorca. Born in New York City, she attended the Institute of Fashion Technology studying advertising and marketing, before moving to Paris, Stockholm, and London to work as a model and actress. Alanna seeks to attract her highly creative professional network of colleagues around the world to help promote Mallorca as a film production destination and cultural center of the festival. @sampietrocreative

Alba Bonnin Ostrem

Assistant programer "FILMS FOR KIDS"

Alba is a young actress of dual Spanish-Danish nationality. Since she was a child she has had a great interest in acting and cinema in general. She is an ESO student and attends acting classes at Actors Lab Mallorca. She starred in Toni Bestard's feature film Pullman in 2019 and participated in Paco Plaza's La Abuela in 2021. She presented the Premis De Creació Literària at Palma's Teatre Principal in 2020.

Lucy Wright

Assistant programer

Lucy grew up between the UK and Mallorca. She pursued her passion for Film and Screen at The University of Brighton, where she achieved a First-class Honours degree. Throughout her university years, Lucy made two short films—a documentary and a fiction film—both of which she wrote and directed. Now, Lucy channels her creativity through various avenues, including content creation, creating short films, practising ceramics, and writing. Through her writing, Lucy looks into themes of gender and popular culture, while also reviewing film and TV.

Katharina Maas

Assistant programer

Katharina loves art and language with a focus on Arthouse cinema. She studied acting at the 'Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute New York' and was a scholar of the 'Skript Akademie Berlin' where she studied screenplay writing and film dramaturgy. As a writer, Katharina has developed multiple short- and feature films and was rewarded with scholarships, invitations, grants and nominations for her work. Her focus is exploring the human condition and especially the role of females. Katharina lives and works in Berlin.
